Blood Orange Margarita

BLOOD ORANGE MARGARITA😍

GUYS! We made it to Friday!! What a better way to reward yourself than with a nice and bright Blood Orange Margarita! It’s the least we can do for ourselves today right? ;) You’re gonna love this one!

I served these beauts in my new Greenline Glasses - they’re so cute with a map of San Diego on them! Can’t even count how many people I’ve gotten these as gifts for - it’s the perfect addition to the bar cart. They’ve been awesome and are offering you guys 15% on their website if you use the code RockinMeals15. They also have glasses with dog breeds on them, so you KNOW I’m gonna need to get a Beagle one ASAP! You can find the ones I have here.

If you’re skeptical about the egg white, you’ve gotta trust me on this! It gives it a nice frothy top and mellows out the citrus in the cocktail. It will still taste great without though!

Serves 2.

Ingredients:

For the Blood Orange Margarita:

  • 4 oz lime juice (½ cup)

  • 2 oz blood orange juice (¼ cup)

  • 4-5 oz 100% agave tequila (I like Casamigos)

  • 2 oz Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur

  • 3-4 tbsps honey or agave

  • 1 egg white (optional)

  • Blood orange zest + sugar for the rim

  • Extra lime wedges for serving

  • Ice

Directions:

For the Blood Orange Margarita:

  • Add lime juice, blood orange juice, tequila, Grand Mariner, and honey or agave to a cocktail shaker and shake for 15-20 seconds until well mixed.

  • Add egg white and shake for 20-30 seconds to incorporate the egg white.

  • Add ice and shake until your hand is very cold.

  • Mix blood orange zest and sugar on a plate. Rim both cocktail glasses with a lime wedge and dip in the sugar mix. Fill with ice.

  • Strain the margarita into each glass and serve with a blood orange slice. Enjoy!
